Do you know why Famous Last Words was written?
This song was written by Gerard to his brother Mikey.
During the time that My Chemical Romance was creating “The Black Parade”, Mikey went through a depression period. The depression was so bad that he wanted to leave the band. He once said, “I was going to leave the band or maybe just planet Earth altogether.”
Gerard wouldn’t continue with the band without his kid brother, so he wrote a song completely dedicated to him.
In the .gif above, the lyrics, “I see you lying next to me with words I thought I’d never speak.” These lyrics refer to Mikey coming into Gerard’s room in the night time while the band stayed at the Paramour Mansion. This is just one example of the song referring to Mikey.
Listen to the song again, and keep Mikey and the thought of him leaving the band in mind. I think it’ll make even more sense than before and it’s highly touching.
This is not my gif.

‘The Ghost of You’ was a very taxing video. We almost drowned in the middle of the ocean. And I had to pretend I was dying for 45 minutes.
